      <image:title>Contact - About</image:title>
<image:caption>Johanna Kunin is a knitwear designer and musician from Minneapolis who lives in Portland, Oregon. Over the past decade, she honed her knitting skills in vans, planes, and green rooms while on tour with bands like Thao and the Get Down Stay Down. In 2016, she branched out further in the fiber world, learning macramé and then writing the instructional content for designer Emily Katz’s book Modern Macramé: 33 Stylish Projects for Your Handmade Home (2018, Ten Speed Press). It was this experience that gave her the confidence to strike out on her own as a designer. She’s thrilled to begin releasing patterns into the wild, and to see two of her designs published in knitting magazines in the coming months. Most of all, she hopes these designs will bring joy to others who love the art of knitting as much as she does. In addition to knitting and designing, Johanna spends most days playing the piano, singing, and trying not to be too distracted by her two, adorable cats.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Blueberry Pie is a circular-yoke pullover worked seamlessly from the top down. It begins with a ribbed neckband shaped with short rows which flows into a woven lattice of cables, textured stitches, and bobbles. The body is worked in moss stitch in one of two styles: shorter with a-line shaping or longer and straight. Cables wind down the outside of the sleeves as well, which flow into cuffs ringed with a pattern that echoes the neckline.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Beneath Waves Vest is worked in the round from the bottom up to the underarms, after which the front and back are worked separately and flat. Stitches are then picked up around the armholes and at the neck for a ribbed trim, which is finished with a sewn bind off. The body can be made at any of three lengths: cropped, regular, or long. Instructions for optional, subtle half-hourglass side-shaping (smaller at the hem than at the bust) are included for the two shorter body lengths.</image:caption>
